- Domino's Pizza box
- Large Track Writing paper
- white lined paper (with large lines appropriate for kindergarten aged students)

Lesson Implementation:
After reading Pete's A Pizza, we took turns adding toppings to our felt pizza. Each of us were required to explain which topping we chose by using a complete sentence, verbally. ( For example: "I am going to add oregano to my pizza." ) We were able to each have two turns adding toppings to the pizza.
The students were very eager to put the pizza in our "oven" and they looked forward to eating the pizza after we completed our sentences.
After putting our pizza into the oven. The students returned to our table we read the prompt out-loud together.
"If my family made me into a pizza they would _______________."
As students completed the writing prompt they would read their sentence aloud and then begin coloring their picture. Some students did not have time to add or complete a picture because of the time they spent on their sentences. However, I was thrilled at how enthusiastic they were when writing their sentences. Additionally, the students were very concerned about our pizza while it was cooking so they asked me to periodically check on it in the oven to make sure it was not burning.
After we had completed our sentences and finished cleaning up our work station I pulled our pizza out of the "oven" and we all "ate" it.
